On to 2013!

Tonight is probably the most uneventful New Years Eve I have ever had (as you can tell, I'm blogging about it already!).  We were not able to find a sitter and now Josh and I are both sick with some yucky virus.  Do you know how hard it is to be a sick parent? (especially when both are down?).  We are taking shifts with Evelyn....the older two are self-sufficient.......We are both ready to feel better and hope that the New Year brings temperatures down and rids our house of germs!

The girls did go to our club's 'new years eve eve' party last night, which was SO wonderful for kids! A magician kept the kids thoroughly entertained for an hour while the adults mingled.  Then there was a dinner and karaoke! Lucy had been practicing her Taylor Swift songs for days!  Lastly at 8pm, there was a countdown complete with horns and a balloon drop...the kids LOVED it!

Despite tonight being uneventful, I am spending it with my loved ones so in a way it couldn't be more perfect! Alice helped me set a 'fancy kids dinner' she called it....then we had brownies and sparkling grape juice!  To top it off, they are having a 'sleepover' in our great room and are watching a movie.  Josh and I are already curled up in bed (yes it is not even 9pm) but some Advil and sleep never sounded so good!

Happy New Years to you and yours!

one more month til' birthday! ;-)

Evelyn turned 11 months old yesterday!  We celebrated by taking down the christmas tree- ha!

She is busy busy busy!  She now loves stairs and the toilet! (ugh)

She doesn't seem too interested in trying to walk (Her sisters were both walking by 10 mos)....

Time to start planning a party!

Pure Joy and Excitement!

As most children in the world, Christmas morning lends itself to everyone having a ridiculous amount of giddiness for what will be awaiting early rising children!  At 6:45, Lucy called my cell phone from her grandparents cell phone upstairs and said they were all up and ready to see if Santa had come! The previous post has videos for you to witness the chaos (and screaming!).
Evelyn didn't know what in the heck was going on but she had fun playing with the paper and chewing on anything she could get her hands on! The girls couldn't decide whether to open gifts, examine the Santa loot, read his letter, or do stockings! So many choices- ha!
The girls got all they wanted! Santa brought them a basketball goal and balls. (grrrr.....walmart sent a damaged pole so they wont get it until this week) and Evelyn got a new pink wagon! Those were just the 'outside' santa gifts: indoors, there was a vanity, desk, 2 scooters, Taylor Swift tickets (!), new stroller for E, 2 guitars and giant teddy bears!  Then they got lots of other fun things like clothes, Uggs, lots of Lalaloopsy for alice, gift cards, shoes, board games, toys, etc!  Needless, to say Im ashamed that it looks like Santa's sleigh broke down here!

My cat Leon has not been seen since Friday and I was sure he was gone (aka dead) for good......I went to bed very sad last night b/c he had not been seen....but low and behold I went to preheat the oven this morning during the gift opening and he was meowing at the back door! what a christmas surprise!!!

after MUCH un-opening, assembling, trash gathering, etc....we just put Evelyn down for a nap and i'm happy to say I am curled in bed for a quick 'rest' if the other two will let me! ;-)

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas yourselves!

Christmases past....

When I was home this past weekend, I took pictures of old Santa pictures....they are a hoot!

Christmas Friends

On Friday, we headed east to Ahoskie for our annual Christmas celebration!  Our car was packed to the gils with presents, luggage, kids and more presents!  We stopped in Raleigh to visit our good friends the Murrays....the girls had so much fun seeing Adeline and Lillian.  The adults enjoyed their time together as well!

We then left for Ahoskie.  Evelyn is much better in the car but she is still a full time job! Super Dad Josh sits back there with all the girls and even managed a dirty diaper change in the floorboard as I kept driving!!! ;-/

On that afternoon, the girls and I went with my mom to help her pick out two kittens to adopt.  The decision was very hard but we ended up picking two little brothers. One is grey with white feet aka 'Lenny' and one tabby aka 'Leroy'.  Mom may end up changing their names but for now, that is what they got! They were the highlight of the weekend!!! The girls had so much fun playing with them and they are the sweetest kitties!!!

The girls then opened their presents from my parents and all got new bikes/cozy coupes! Much fun was had on Saturday riding their new toys! Thanks Grammy and Grandpa for those toys as well as everything else we got!
The hot tub is always a hit while we are there as well!

Mom has the rest of our Ahoskie weekend pictures so I'll upload them soon!

Yesterday on our way back, I was so happy that my best friend was in Tarboro up from Alabama so we got to visit! She was able to meet Evelyn and my girls were able to meet her little Frances!

CHristmas eve is in full swing! The baby is dreaming of Elmo and the older two are running laps around the house! Off to church!
