So, months ago Emily and I decided that Bland and Evelyn should have a joint 2nd Birthday party as their special days are just two weeks apart! They both love Sesame Street so the theme was easy to come up with! We invited their classmates, friends, and family and had a wonderful celebration this afternoon! Their special pal, ELMO even made a special appearance! Bland seemed delighted to see Elmo ---Evelyn, not so much. She didn't want to get anywhere NEAR him until the end when Elmo put on a small dance party! We will celebrate Evelyn's official birthday on the 29th but she sure had fun today!!!! Enjoy the pics!!

Spectacles
So Alice is getting lots of blog attention this week! She deserves it I suppose! ;-) So, at her 6 yr old check up back in the fall- she didn't do so hot on her vision test. They found she had a stigmatism as well as some vision issues. Our pediatrician said to give it a few months in school and see how it went. After several notes home from her teacher saying headaches were arriving late in the day, we decided that she was squinting so much therefore bringing on the head pain. She has been begging me to make her an appt and I finally made one over the holidays. She went to the eye doctor (thanks for the referral Britt!) this past Monday and she was so excited?!?! After a menagerie of eye exams, eye photos, questions, etc Dr. Reid said that she needed glasses. I thought Alice was going to catapult out of the examining chair she was so excited! It was like Christmas all over again! We went next door and after a long drawn out process of trying on 'fancy' glasses she finally picked out some 'Guess' tortoise shell frames with purple sides (w/flowers of course) SHe is so thrilled with her new glasses. She really only needs them at school, doing homework, reading, etc but for now she wears them a lot! Her older sister is jealous and Alice just grins- loves it! ;-) Who knew glasses would make a little girl so happy!??!!?

Father/Alice Dance
This past Friday night was our church's annual Father/Daughter Dance. Alice was due a date with her daddy so this was the perfect opportunity for them! They joined some friends for dinner at the club then proceeded to the church for a couple hours of fun! Josh said it was the best one yet so they obviously had a great time! Lucy, her friend Mary, Evelyn and I went to Mayberry's and had a quite night in. Below are some pics from the dance and others from the week and weekend!
