Brrrrrrr!!!!

Well, since Christmas we have been hunkering down and enjoying some quality family time while it has been very cold!  The temps got down to 6 degrees night before last- hasn't been that cold in like 10 years! Luckily no precipitation accompanied it and the kids have just had two 2-hour delays!  After Christmas we had sleepovers, cooked a lot, had family outings, squeezed in a quick trip to the Great Wolf Lodge, endured a quick stomach bug, took down Christmas decorations, rang in the New Year, kids played a lot of Minecraft, etc!  Don't have any exciting pictures to show really but a few fun stories:

1- Evelyn had her first taste of the Great Wolf Lodge. She LOVED it! BUT, there are two minor things she needs to work on: going down the slide versus her desire to up it and learning to wait in line! She didn't quite get those two concepts! I videoed her sliding down and every time she watched she starts crying for 'slide again'…..she can't wait to go back!

2-The Whitaker Talent Show is coming up and while Lucy has done it- ALice is determined to participate this year!  She says she is going to 'play a little tune' on her new pink ukelele (an instrument she has no idea how to play!) ;-)  I'm not sure how this is gonna go down but I'll update you!

3-Evelyn is talking up a storm! She says new things every hour! Her favorite new phrases are : 'oh goodness', 'go heels', 'go eagles', 'where'd it go?', 'I find it!', 'some more peez', and so on….

4- Lucy is now into wearing these glasses (not prescription) for fun! Not sure why but she bought them at Claires and I'm like 'whatever'…. ;-)

5- we are gearing up for Evelyn's 2nd birthday- trying to teach her to say 'TWO' but its not going well so far!

As I said, nothing crazy going on here but I always say that boring is good!
