outtakes

Some recent funnies:

*We recently received an Angel (www.mysecretangelandme.com) the other day. It is the same concept as the Elf on the Shelf, but an angel.  You are supposed to give her a name and she will 'become real'.  Lucy was brainstorming and coming up with great names like Joy, Noel, Sparkle, and Mary.  Alice was sitting quietly thinking to herself then she blurted out, "How about Rihanna?"....ha!

* I just informed Lucy that Justin Beiber and Selena Gomez had broken up and she said, "Yes! I still have a chance!"

*Lucy's 2nd grade teacher's birthday is today but she made her a card on Friday.  She worked real hard on it and when I read it, it said:
   Dear Ms Moses- Malone,
You have been the best teacher.  Thank you for teaching me a lot about math...I am now smarter
than my Dad.  I hope you get some new earrings for your birthday.  Have a splendid birthday.
          Love your student, Lucy
She also taped her new school picture inside which I thought was cute. I asked her why she put the earrings part in there, she said, "Well, she wears the same pair every day so I thought she needed some new ones."  ;-)

*At dinner the other night I asked Alice what were the best and worst parts of her day. She replied, "The best part was when I was picked for a surprise in Media and the worst part was when Mrs. Fant yelled at me."
I then asked why her teacher 'yelled' at her and she said, "Well, I was playing and not listening...he he he" with her sneaky lil' giggle!!

*Alice had Field Day on Friday and as she ran three laps around a big square she passed me and said, "I don't know how Dad runs those races...this is hard...my breath is coming all out!"

Rock n' Run

Greetings from Savannah!  Back in January, Josh, my father in law Jeff and I decided to run the Savannah Rock n Roll 1/2 marathon this weekend.  Needless to say, I didn't get to really train #havingababywilldothat so maybe next time for me!  Anyway, we planned a family trip since the girls were coincidentally out for Fall Break this upcoming Monday and Tuesday. We have rented a house in downtown Savannah and it could have not been more perfect for us!  We have 3 bedrooms and then a little extra den for Evelyn.  We can cook in the kitchen and have two porches to hang out on!  The location has been phenomenal! Not knowing this but the race literally went right by our front door at the mile 5 marker so it was a perfect cheering spot this morning!  We then walked 4 blocks to Forsyth Park where the finish line was located along with bands, playgrounds, etc!
Josh and Jeff both ran very well this morning.  Josh marked his best 1/2 marathon time at 1:38:07 with a 7:25 mile pace!  Jeff finished a tad bit slower at 2:45:41 but he is 64 yrs old!! Everyone rested this afternoon then we walked back up to the playgrounds and had some ice cream......It has been a good getaway!  Tomorrow we head to meet some friends in Hilton Head! Pray for safe travels!

TRICK OR TREAT!

Despite the stressful chaos that goes along with Halloween night (parents, you know exactly what I'm talking about- especially with girls).....we had a fun night! Lucy finally decided to be Katy Perry but as the evening went on she downgraded to a rocker, dancer, etc.....the costume came off piece by piece...she does loathe a wig yet picks one out every year!  Alice stuck with her 1st choice which was an 'under the sea fairy'....she loved it despite the clip on earrings which really were just on for the pictures in the beginning!  Evelyn was a precious cupcake....she was by far the warmest!  The night was much cooler that we expected, but we loaded her in the wagon with the cooler (important!) and she rode along with the trick or treaters......Hope you all had a good night! Happy Halloween!

Character Dress Up Day

At the girls elementary school, they ask the students to dress up as a book character on Halloween instead of just wearing a costume.  My girls went to their bookshelves and this is what they came up with!

Pumpkin Carving

Much to Josh's dismay, we reminded him right before dinner that we still had to carve our pumpkin for Halloween tomorrow! He essentially had to do all of the work as I was cleaning up from dinner and keeping Evelyn at bay from the the knives, seeds, etc!  The girls picked out the design and he did a superb job!

her true reaction to the seeds

now Lucy.........

Sorry for the shirtless baby....dinner destroyed her top

Not Evelyn's best : scratched eyes, snotty nose, drool around
